Genealogy in bloom: library resources at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Was your ancestor a member of a garden club or society?

You might find a reference to him or her in the holdings at The Library Archives and Rare Book Room at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, 2612 Lane Park Road.

Garden club scrapbooks and yearbooks, Works Progress Administration records, photographs and postcards are among the holdings open to the public. There are also plant fossils and other items well worth a look.

The library is at the Botanical Gardens’ library on the first floor of the Garden Center. It’s open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and on weekends by appointment. For more information, call 205-414-3967 or send an email to thelibrary@bbgardens.org.
