Creek War is topic of upcoming talk in Montgomery

“The Coming of the Creek War” is the topic when University of South Alabama professor Greg Waselkov is featured at the ArchiTreats: Food for Thought presentation on Dec. 16 at the  Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery. 

The event, at noon,  is part of a continuing series of lunch time talks.  Waselkov’s program is in conjunction with the statewide Becoming Alabama commemoration

In his talk, Waselkov will outline the growing conflict between the Creek Nation and the United States as American settlers entered the interior Southeast in increasing numbers during the early years of the nineteenth century, according to a state archives news release.

 ArchiTreats: Food for Thought is made possible by the Friends of the Alabama Archives. The public is invited to bring a sack lunch and enjoy a bit of Alabama history. Coffee and tea will be provided by the Friends of the Alabama Archives. For more information, call 334- 353-4726.
