The Tennessee Valley Civil Round Table is hosting a regional conference of Civil War Round Tables on Tuesday, April 5 in Huntsville.
The conference at Monte Sano Lodge is being held as the country marks 2011 as the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the war. Its aim is to promote the most practical methods of starting and running Round Tables effectively and economically.
Civil War News journalist Matthew Borowick will be the facilitator. Borowick writes a regular column in Civil War News, “Round Table Review.”
The conference is free and will begin at 4:30 p.m. with an informal greeting session. The program is at 5 p.m.
An optional banquet will follow at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person.
Borowick will be the banquet speaker, talking about the court martial of Union Gen. Fitz John Porter. He was put on trial for his actions at Second Bull Run.
