“Civil War Voices” to be performed at University of North Alabama

The University of North Alabama‘s Distinguished Event Series on Oct. 6 will present a free performance of Barter Theatre’s national tour of  “Civil War Voices” by James Harris.

The performance will be at 7 p.m. at UNA’s Norton Auditorium in Florence.

“Civil War Voices” tells the true stories of five people who lived through the conflict, using the actual words the characters left behind in diaries, letters and other writings. New arrangements by composer Mark Hayes of traditional period melodies are played during the performance.

The playwright will be on hand for a post-performance discussion.
