Historian William C. Davis, a regular on many History Channel shows, will be in Birmingham next month.
Davis will be the featured speaker at the Alabama Bench and Bar Historical Society’s annual meeting and luncheon at The Club on Oct. 21.
His topic will be one of the heroes of the Alamo, William B. Travis. How the young Alabama lawyer ended up as one of the most notable casualties of the drive for Texas independence is told in Davis’ book, “Three Roads to the Alamo.”
The noon event is open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets are $25 for ABBHS members and $30 for non-members. They are available by sending a check payable to ABBHS to: P. O. Box 722, Montgomery, AL 36101-0722, by Oct. 17.
