Southeast Mississippi genealogy group plans events for this week

If your Alabama ancestors were from the southwest part of the state, chances are good they had connections with people in southeast Mississippi.
The Pascagoula-based Jackson County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Pascagoula Library meeting room. The library is at3214 Pascagoula St.
Samantha Hebert who will screen her film documentary on the History of Netmaking, an inportant skill for our ancestors who made their living fishing, shrimping and oystering along the Alabama and Mississippi coasts.
On Saturday, Oct. 1 the society will be selling its books and publications during the Zonta Festival at the Pascagoula Library. Hours are 9 a.m.-noon. is the Zonta Festival.
