University and Birmingham’s places in history are topics of Friday event

The University of Alabama at Birmingham and the City of Birmingham’s places in history are the topics of a free event Friday, Jan. 25, at the university’s Mervyn H. Sterne Library. The event will be from 4-6 p.m., followed by a reception.

Birmingham genealogist Ann Gilbert, the city’s archivist, James Baggett and historian Tennant McWilliams are the panelists. Odessa Woolfolk, educator, civic activist and former assistant to the UAB president for community relations, will serve as moderator.

The Sterne Library is at 917 13th St. South.
